My Story

“From the outset, I strive to create a positive and accepting environment for my clients, one that is conducive to growth.”

What was your path to becoming a therapist?

I have always had a strong desire to help people. Growing up with parents in the helping profession, I had a strong example of the rewards of doing for others. In college, I gravitated toward psychology courses and realized I was destined for this profession. After graduating with my master’s in social work from Barry University in Miami, FL, I completed an internship in an inpatient setting. Although I learned and gained a tremendous amount, I realized my passion for developing therapeutic relationships through the therapy process. I moved to New York where I have been practicing for the past few years. Working at a clinic provided me with a strong foundation of clinical skills as well as the opportunity to work with individuals of all backgrounds experiencing a wide array of struggles. I am a trauma-informed therapist who works with adults of all ages and stages to help them reduce their mental health concerns and live their best lives. I am trained in DBT and TF-CBT and value the incorporation of many skills, including mindfulness, into my daily practice.

What should someone know about working with you?

My therapeutic style is integrative and eclectic, and I work to tailor treatment to my clients' needs and desires. From the outset, I strive to create a positive and accepting environment for my clients, one that is conducive to growth. Whether the goal is managing their mental health symptoms, improving self-esteem and care, reducing stress, or learning healthier relational/ communication patterns, I am here to help clients gain the necessary tools to succeed and thrive. I work primarily with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles as well as those with histories of trauma. Together, we can work to build skills that empower clients to better their day-to-day lives and make meaningful and lasting changes.

What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?

One of the greatest steps that we have taken in the mental health field is the inclusion of telehealth services as common practice. As a result, countless more individuals are able to receive quality services regardless of the constraints that can sometimes exist with more traditional treatment.

“Whether the goal is managing their mental health symptoms, improving self-esteem and care, reducing stress, or learning healthier relational/ communication patterns, I am here to help clients gain the necessary tools to succeed and thrive.”
